D.I.Y Dip Dye Skirt

Last night I was going through my wardrobe, sorting through my clothes when I spotted this skirt that I bought in the River Island sale last year. I think I've probably worn it once, maybe not even that and I thought to myself how cute it would look if it was dip dyed a pretty pastel shade. So, in an effort to put off essay writing even longer, I decided that something simply must be done about it right away! I rifled through my craft drawers and found a Dylon cold water dye (A3 Lilac) that I've been hoarding for an absolute age, and set to work!

It was actually really simple to do and thankfully, even though I completely disregarded the instructions in favour of my own method, the finished result turned out pretty cute! I was envisioning the bottom being a little darker and more obviously dip dyed, so I might buy a slightly deeper shade of purple to do that. But, I do quite like it how it turned out with the subtle fade out, so I might just leave it as it is.. we'll see! What do you think?

I'm really tempted to jazz up a few more things with a bit of D.I.Y now! Has anyone got any recommendations for some good D.I.Y based fashion blogs?
